MY TOP 10 FAVORITE PLACES IN DUBLIN

Dublin is a compact capital where everything is so near to each other, perfect to explore on foot. Even if you don’t like the idea of walking, a convenient public transport network takes you almost wherever you wish to go, OR you easily explore Dublin on bike since the streets are relatively flat unlike some other Europe countries.

Here is a list of my favorite places in Dublin:

1. St. Stephen Green(click to know more)

Located at the Top of Grafton Street is a beautiful city park. The Fusilier's Arch marks the main entrance into St. Stephen's Green. It is truly a gem of the city! An oasis away from city life, located within the city center.

2. Trinity College (click to know more)

Just a stone throw away from St Stephen Green lies the Trinity College. It is the oldest university in Ireland, founded by England’s Queen Elizabeth I in 1592. See the "Books of Kells" here.

3. Grafton Street (click to know more)

This eclectic street is always buzzing with energy and it is arguably the most popular shopping location in Dublin. It is a great place to watch some street performances too.

4. O'Neill's Pub (click to know more)

Best. decision. EVER.
It is situated in the historic heart of Dublin, a stone throw away from almost all attractions around: Trinity College, Grafton Street, Temple bar…. It is fairly easy to find.

5. Temple Bar

A leisure stroll through the famous Temple Bar is a must! Although I myself do not recommend dining or having a drink there because I think they are overpriced.

6. Guinness Storehouse (click to know more)

This is rather an expensive attraction. However, the Guinness Storehouse is so iconic it is almost synonymous with Ireland, therefore, “no trip to Dublin is complete without visiting the Guinness Storehouse” and so they said.

7. Dublin Castle (click to know more)

Dublin Castle was formerly the center of Administration during 700 years of British rule in Ireland. Today, the castle is a popular venue for ceremonial occasions, exhibitions, and concerts.
Visit the "Chester Beatty Library" here!

8. St Patrick's Cathedral (click to know more)

Built between 1220 and 1260, this building left from the Medieval city of Dublin is the national cathedral of the Church of Ireland. This is the largest church in Ireland.

9. A walk Through the Bridges to the new town

Miss Happy Feet, Dublin River, Vivian Lee

The River Liffey, which flows into the harbor, divides Dublin into two. There are a number of bridges connecting the north-south divide. Simply walk any bridge to admire the view.
Bridges include: O'Connell, Ha'Penny, Samuel Beckett, etc.
the Spire in New town.
In the New part of Town, the O'Connell Street is an interesting walk. It is also a shopping hub, however, I prefer the Grafton Street over it.

10. Kilmainham Gaol  (click to know more)

Kilmainham truly is an important site that tells the story of Irish independence, therefore this is considered a MUST for all history buff!

There is a lot more to experience in Dublin. If you are unsure, drop by the “The Discover Ireland Centre” on Suffolk Street! Dubliners are one of the friendliest people in the world, I am sure they will have some good suggestions to suit your preference.

I do hope to be able to go to Dublin one day. I'm sure it will have to wait until the kids are a bit older as traveling the US seems to be our main thing right now.
