Dermaroller Scar Treatment in Premier Clinic KL, Malaysia

Dermaroller is commonly known as skin needling with a sterile roller. Some call it micro needling and collagen induction therapy (CIT). Honestly, I was petrified when I hear needles and worst of all hundreds of them. however, Dr. Foo from Premier Clinic provides a clear explanation of the whole procedure, making the treatment not as intimidating as it sounds.

How do Derma Rollers Work?
By creating thousands of micro punctures into the skin, the process breaks down old scar tissuesThis will stimulate your body's own healing mechanism and promotes tremendous new collagen and elastin production. That being said, your body will self-generate fresh skin cells that will fill up all the pores. The effect is said to last a year with each treatment.
Also, these micropuncture holes would significantly improve the absorption of topical skin care products as it allows them to bypass the epidermis. Hence, it improves the efficacy of whatever skincare you are using.

What does collagen do?
Smoothen fine lines, fill scars, wrinkles or stretch marks permanently.

Who will be suitable for this treatment?
You’ll need to see a doctor from Premier Clinic to decide about this. However, generally, Microneedling can benefit anyone who is suffering from:

  • Fine line and deep wrinkles
  • Deep forehead wrinkles
  • Wrinkles between eyebrows
  • Crow’s feet
  • Scars
  • Depressed acne scars
  • Sun damaged skin
  • Hyperpigmentation marks
  • Aging Skin
  • Stretchmarks
  • Chickenpox scars
  • Rough skin texture
  • Hair loss

Derma Roller Down Time?
I experienced slight redness right after the procedure and I can feel my whole face throbbing, but don’t get me wrong, for it is a good sign. Throbbing and redness mean your blood, as well as growth factors, are rushing to the scene after the treatment and that's exactly what we want.
After a few hours, the effects tone down and I resumed my work without anyone noticing.

Dermaroller Results
The result is permanent. New collagen will slowly accumulate and refill the scaring area, usually throughout 4 to 8 weeks after the treatment.
For deeper scars like mine, you’ll probably need 4 to 12 monthly treatments to see major improvements.
