What is Cashback and How to Use it - OCTAPLUS!

When I went traveling in China in 2018, I was so impressed with its cashless society and wondered how will it be like to do the same in Malaysia. So now, not only that I started using E-wallets, I am more saving-savvy now, always hunting around for new promo codes, cashback programs and so on. Today I’ll talk about the tip of the iceberg, the cashback programs, the concept that you will able to save and on top of that accumulate more “earnings” to shop more. Xi'an, China: 4 days 3 nights itinerary

A phrase in China “Xi’an is the real heart of China 西安最中国” shows the historical significance of Xi an. They said, go to Shanghai and you will find a 100-year-old China; go to Beijing and you will find a 1000-year-old China; go to Xi’an and then you will find a 3000-year-old China.” I found this saying very true. After Shanghai, Beijing, and Tianjin, this is my last city in China before I head straight back to Malaysia and start my life as a junior doctor. It must be extra special, it better be, and it sure was!

Oedolgae Rock (외돌개), Jeju Island , South Korea

The Oedolgae, is also known as the Changgun Rock, Oedolgae means General and why on earth that the Koreans name it that way? Korean Legend says that during the war times, a general disguised the rock as a gigantic general in order to ward off Mongolian attacks. And it (surprisingly) worked! The enemy troops were so frightened by what they saw; all of them committed suicide! To honour the victory, the rock was henceforth known as Oedolgae Rock.

Jeju Island, South Korea: 5 Days 4 Nights Itinerary

For as long as I remember, Jeju island did not make it into my travel bucket list, for whatever reason I might have. But a week before entering 2019, a wild idea stroked me: I have to escape in the name of a spontaneous trip, anywhere as long as I can be on a plane (well don’t ask me since when I’ve developed this love for flying). I browsed on the AirAsia website and immediately locked my eyes on Jeju. Not only because the fare was quite reasonable but also, I simply have to end my “prejudice” towards Korea. and so, I’ve booked the ticket almost instantly, packed my bags and fervently pray for 4 days to pass by in a blink of an eye. Next, I’ll have 5 days in Jeju Island! How exciting!

4 Days in Japan Itinerary: Visiting Aichi, a Hidden Gem lying in between Tokyo and Osaka

Japan is my obsession, I could go visit several times a year, but after a few trips I realized something: I am bored with dazzling lights in the city…. how about discovering more of Japan less traveled sites?
5 Days in Japan autumn Itinerary
Aichi prefecture has never made the cut into my itinerary, so when I got an opportunity to visit, I seize it. What is more fun than surprises? Expect less and you’ll gain more. What's genuine about Japan is the culture, the people, the activities, and the smiles. Let's take a step back and go find the real Japan in Aichi Prefecture, a hidden treasure chest buried between Tokyo and Kyoto.

Korankei, Best Place to Enjoy Fall Foliage in Central Japan

Kōrankei is a famous valley not too far from Nagoya (Aichi Prefecture), reputedly one of the best spots for autumn foliage in Chubu Region (and believe me, it is not an over-statement!). Shaping the valley is the 254 meters tall Mount Limori terrain, on which the "mysterious" Kojakuji Temple stands.

Have you felt absolutely torn apart when you are trying to decide the best timing to visit Japan?

A Visit to the Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium: Is it Worth it?

Our last attraction of the trip was the Nagoya Port Public Aquarium. After a brief stroll at the port, we headed straight into the North building of the aquarium, greeted by, our first sight, the bottlenose dolphins, killer whales, and Beluga whales! We ran for the dolphins show first because the show was about to start. It was spectacular, so please take note of the show time so that you won’t miss it! There are 3 scheduled dolphin shows per day at the largest main pool in all of Japan, with stands seating approximately 3,000 people.

Japan Experience: Strolling Inuyama, Aichi Dressing in Kimono

Kimono is the traditional garment of Japan and it can be literally translated as a “thing to wear” (ki means “wear” and mono means ”thing”). The earliest Kimono were heavily influenced by Hanfu, which is the traditional Chinese clothing before the Qing dynasty. After a fantastic visit to the Inuyama castle, we had a chance to stroll the quaint old town of Inuyama in kimono!
