I’ve exchanged a few emails with the owner, Delphine, prior to the trip. Even though I have some experience tent camping in the wilderness (back in America), I am still very much confused when it comes to camping in Iceland. She started with a few questions about my plans in Iceland: whether I am going to travel by car, hike or cook at the campsite. Then she proceeded to create a customized set for us.
We went up to the second floor and was promptly greeted by a staff. He asked for my name and led us into the storage room. There was already a set of equipment on the rack with my name labeled on them, he asked us to check if we need to add something on or leave something out. After some discussion, we decided to change to a tent that is more sturdy (but also heavier), added a portable charger and left the sleeping mat out.
The camping gears are in perfect condition. They looked completely new. The staffs were very efficient and attentive with our request, they are also very patient, showing us the right way to use the portable stove and the inflatable mat.
Here is a step-by-step guide on

STEP 5: DROP OFF
- Wait for the staff to check for missing items.
- Have a safe flight back!
Important Note:
They advertise that they have a 24/7 pick up and drop off service but the office actually opens from 9am to 5pm. However, they have a ground floor storage room, which is indeed accessible 24/7. So if your flight arrives late in the evening but you plan to have an early start the next day, inform the staff ahead of time, via email. They will send you an access code for the ground floor storage room and have your gears ready for pick up.
