Travel Essentials: What Should I Pack in my Travel Health Kit?

Russian + Malaysian Medications. 

Step 1: Evaluate Needs 

Firstly, ask yourself 3 questions: 
1. Where to?
Major cities: you don’t have to load up on medicine, prepare a basic kit that contain antidiarrheal, aspirin and bandaids might be enough.
Rural area/ remote wilderness: Pack a complete kit.  

2. What is included in your Itinerary?
Camping/ hiking: focus on first aid

3. Your health condition?
Your prescribed medicine + a copy of doctor’s prescription
- Allergies: antihistamine, Epi-pen + prescription
- Diabetic:Insulin + prescription
…. you get the point.

Contact card containing phone numbers of:
- Family member 
- Your doctor
- (your country) Embassy or consulate at your destination

The Essentials
Aspirin
Adhesive Bandage 
Vitamins 
Anti-Diarrhea Meds + oral salt solution
Motion Sickness Tablets
Nasal Decongestants
Sunscreen (at least SPF 15 , has both UVA and UVB protection)
Disinfectant wipes or hand sanitizer 
Eye drops
Health insurance card and copies of claim forms

Extras for rural area/ hiking trips
First Aids: - Antibacterial Gel (for cuts and abrasions). 
                 - Blister Strips
                 - Alcohol swabs, gauze and medical tape.
                 - Other tools: scissors ... 
Flu Meds
Water Purification Tablets
Altitude Sickness Tablets
Microbial infection/ parasitic : - Insect repellent 
                                               - Anti-pruritic Cream
                                               - Anti-malarials
                                               - Yeast Infection Treatment
                                               - Immunization records
